"My Reading Words" - A Sight Word Review App for Kids
"My Reading Words" is a free educational app developed by Pella Workroom for Android devices. Its purpose is to help children learn to read by reviewing sight words. The app includes the most popular sight word lists, such as the "Dolch sight words list" and the "Fry words list," as well as the option to create a custom list of words.
The app allows users to select a list and then view the groups of each list. The "Fry words list" is divided into ten levels and then into groups of twenty-five words based on frequency of use and difficulty, while the "Dolch sight words list" contains 220 "service words" that are frequently used in the English language and must be recognized to achieve fluency. Additionally, there is a list of 95 commonly used nouns. The words are organized by levels, with increased difficulty from top to bottom and left to right, and the last row corresponds to the list of nouns, divided into 5 blocks.
The app also offers a feature to add your own words to a custom list and share them with other parents. Users can hear the words by tapping them, and the app does not include any advertisements.
